The Mission of the Alpaca Research Foundation is to encourage and support scientific research which benefits the North American alpaca industry, primarily in the areas of alpaca health, husbandry, genetics and fiber.

MAPACA - Mid-Atlantic Alpaca Association. A group of about eighty breeders in the Mid-Atlantic states. Hosts meetings, the Mapaca Jubilee (one of the largest shows in the country) and helps to network farms and facilitate information dissemination.  2008-2009 Abenaki Acres is a member of the MAPACA Board of Directors.

NJAC - New Jersey Alpaca Community. A group of New Jersey farmers dedicated to educating the public about the joys of encountering alpacas.  Abenaki Acres is on the NJAC Board of Directors 2007-2008

The mission of the New Jersey Farm Bureau is to represent agricultural producers and enterprises at all levels of government - local, state, federal and international. This representation includes the influence of regulations and laws, the creation of positive public relations, and the seeking out of initiatives, activities and ventures to help the profitability of the producer members. This organization will remain faithful to the democratic process managed by representatives from every part of the state.

EAA strives to educate and bring together alpaca breeders in New York. EAA works hard to create educational and marketing programming that will benefit all owners and breeders. We take seriously our mission statement: "To promote, educate and support alpaca breeders, owners and enthusiasts of New York State."

EAA has taken a place of the forefront of the alpaca industry by being the first Affiliate to draft and adopt a code of ethics for its members. EAA is also one of the fastest growing Affiliates. New York members are now a significant presence on the National scene with positions on AOBA's Show Rules Committee, Affiliate Committee, Fiber Committee, Nominating Committees and ARI Board of Directors: New York's voice is being herd!

New England Alpaca Owners and Breeders Association NEAOBA is a vibrant and inclusive organization made up of a majority of alpaca farmers in New England. NEAOBA provides "a little help from my friends" to all of it's members in the way of...promotion of the "alpaca lifestyle" at fairs, show and events; communication and information via newsletters, mailings and e-mail ; educational seminars for members and veterinarians; support of the alpaca and fiber markets with local, regional and national marketing efforts. NEAOBA gives its' members ways to connect with other alpaca farmers that help to build a community here in New England.

The Pennsylvania Alpaca Owners & Breeders Association (PAOBA), an association of alpaca breeders in Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania Alpaca Owners & Breeders Association (PAOBA) was formed to help Pennsylvania breeders promote alpacas and support the industry through educational and marketing opportunities. We are an affiliate of the national organization, Alpaca Owners and Breeders Association (AOBA).

Alpacas Without Borders™ is committed to promoting genetic diversity within the North American alpaca population. Through marketing, education and the production of exceptional alpacas of mixed heritage, Alpacas Without Borders™ strives to advance the concept of breeding alpacas based on positive individual attributes without regard to heritage. By promoting genetic diversity, Alpacas Without Borders™ believes that the resulting offspring will not only surpass our expectations with respect to positive fiber attributes, but will also exhibit a strong, lifelong correct conformation while retaining the health and breeding vigor of their native ancestors.

For each of our wholly owned herdsires, such as Phar Online or Victor's Hemiaccoyo Renegade, we donate a portion of the breeding fee to Heifer International.

Heifer's strategy is…
To “pass on the gift.” As people share their animals’ offspring with others – along with their knowledge, resources, and skills – an expanding network of hope, dignity, and self-reliance is created that reaches around the globe. Go to www.Heifer.org for more information.

The Camelid Studies Program at the University of Massachusetts - a program geared towards encouraging undergraduates to pursue a career in Large Animal Studies or as a Vet.  The Director, Steve Purdy, lectures thoughout the country on all matters regarding Alpacas.  An annual Symposium is hosted that covers extensive areas of animal husbandry focused on camelids. This program supports a small herd on the premises of UMASS.
